I find it truly ironic that this decision was made, even with the state's deficit in mind. Education centers such as these have become increasingly crucial as our general public progressively becomes less familiar with our natural environment and its workings. These centers also serve a highly valuable service to their areas by hosting various organizational meetings and events, including workshops for teachers and special youth education events. All this, in addition to their value as tourist attractions, will have a major and highly negative impact once closed.
ReplyDeleteSoaring fuel prices are driving up costs on almost everything we use daily, and not just what we spend to run our vehicles.
ReplyDeleteWith the recent disaster in Japan, I'm sure considerations for expanded nuclear power here has received a blow. So what's left? Oil, hydro, coal ...and natural gas.
I find it rather unbelievable that with the great technical minds we have in the US, someone hasn't discovered an economical and practical method to harness nitrogen as a power source for many uses currently depending on oil production. I hear basically nothing from government that this and alternative solution methods are being pursued. Are they all on big oil's payroll?
Hi, thanks for this very informative article. I like it. =)
